This introduction to fencing will help give you a real insight. You'll start with a full safety briefing and warm up with a top international coach who will introduce you to the basics, including essential footwork. Get to grips with the equipment including foil and mask and go through a few techniques, taught to help and equip you to beat your opponent. You'll learn all the basics and some of the terminology that goes with them, such as the lunge, parry, riposte and feint. Then get into pairs for duelling and fighting games before you put all you have learned into practise with a duel against a rival team. End the day with a display of the three different swords used in fencing. Enjoy this unusual and fulfilling way to keep fit.
